Primary Purpose

The Assistant Director of Campus Activities for Student Organizations supports co-curricular education and development of Middlebury College students through campus activities with particular focus on supporting student organizations, budget management, and Orientation.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.

  • Provide general guidance to student organizations on campus, to include student organization registration, fiscal advisement, program planning, and leadership development.
  • Advise the SGA Finance Committee on the management of the Student Activities Fee and the redesign of management systems.
  • Facilitate training for student organization treasurers.
  • Monitor and audit student organization budgets.
  • Support Orientation activities and events planning and facilitation.
  • In conjunction with Center staff, plan and conduct retreats for student leaders. Provide regular and ongoing leadership training for officers, committee chairs, and general members. Conduct regular leadership evaluations, offering constructive criticism and student development opportunities.
  • Coordinate a comprehensive student assessment program to identify programming and leadership needs/interests.
  • Provide resources and support for student organization faculty and staff advisers.
  • Maintain and monitor budgets of the Center for Campus Activities and Leadership.
  • Assists with office programs, orientation programs, and other college-wide events.
  • Perform contract negotiations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Training

Master's degree in Student Personnel Services, Higher Education Administration, or other related field, or 2 or more years of related experience.
