Primary Purpose

Provides short-term counseling and educational assessment services to enhance the psychological and emotional welfare of students.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.

Engages in psychological counseling with individual students and records notes of sessions.

Facilitates a psycho-educational group weekly.

Co-facilitates a support group for junior counselors tri-weekly.

Administers psycho-educational tests as needed.

Provides drug and alcohol assessments as needed.

Attends consultation meetings with other departments as needed.

Trains and supports residence hall staff as needed.

Reviews and recommends appropriate assessment instruments for students.

Performs related responsibilities as necessary to properly assess and

counsel students.

Education & Training

Master's in clinical field. Formal training in clinical and educational assessment and counseling.

Experience

2-3 years of clinical experience required.

Knowledge

Must maintain and update knowledge of current testing assessment and counseling techniques.

Other

Must handle confidential information in a discreet manner.
