Primary Purpose |
|
The Events and Administrative Coordinator facilitates the mission of the Mahaney Center for the Arts (MCFA) by providing event and administrative support to the MCFA Management Team. Day to day supervision of Front of House staff and administrative student workers.
|
Responsibilities |
Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Conducts Center for the Arts building tours for visitors and daily building check.
- Supervises all departmental student workers (Front of House staff and office assistants) including hiring, training, scheduling, and time management.
- Acts as liaison with Student Employment.
Assists in the oversight of MCFA and Performing Arts Series events, including:
- Planning and day-of support for collaborative programming (including MiddArts and Spring into the Arts) and rentals.
- Coordinates visiting artist local hospitality and transportation.
- Serves as back-up sales associate for the Box Office.
- Serves as back-up technical support for Concert Hall.
Provides administrative support for the MCFA Management Team, including:
- Coordinates distribution of posters, newsletters, and other promotional materials.
- Keeps promotional materials in the building up to date.
- Provides administrative support to the various committees and constituents served by MCFA management team.
- Other Clerical and local services support.

Education & Training |
Bachelor's degree required
|
Experience |
2-3 years previous secretarial experience preferred. Customer service experience necessary. Previous experience working in higher education and/or event management desired.

Knowledge |
Advanced computer skills required, utilizing the following programs: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Resource 25, Excel, and Web applications. Familiarity with the performing arts field a plus. Knowledge of College policies and procedures helpful.

Other |
|
Supervisory skills managing students; excellent verbal communications skills necessary. Must be detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent organizational, technological, and communications skills required. Must be able to be flexible with work schedule; some evenings and weekends required. Valid driver's license, personal vehicle required, and ability to obtain College vehicle permit. Ability to climb stairs. Ability to lift 25 pounds often.
