Primary Purpose

Provides assistance to all areas of the store as required. Manages the Apple Store.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.

  • Primary sales support for Apple Computers, selling and keeping track of inventory, receiving, stocking, returning and invoicing.
  • Coordinates customer requests for service on Apple equipment with service representative.
  • Ships computer orders out along with merchandise web orders.
  • Maintains spread sheet of all computer sales for eligible customer info and warranty purposes.
  • Puts merchandise on web-(Apple, regular and TA) pictures and descriptions.
  • Assists customers as needed.

Textbook Sales operations:
Assistance with Receiving, including but not limited to:

  • Unloading arriving merchandise boxes and transporting boxes into main store.
  • Checking-in textbooks and verifying the accuracy of merchandise against purchase orders.
  • Processing used textbooks making them retail ready.
  • Verification accuracy and inputs book and invoice data on computer.
  • Verification that all books scan at the register before the start of classes and that the price scanned matches the invoiced price.
  • Stocking books for upcoming sales.

Assistance with Returns, including but not limited to:

  • Inventorying all unsold books and textbook buyback, and returning them to vendors or wholesalers,
  • Managing various return deadlines for used and new books.
  • Working with Textbook Coordinator and Assistant Manager to ensure credits match returns.
  • Filling in during co-workers' absences.

Operations Support:

  • Assists Operations Coordinator in any manner requested.
  • Assists with web orders and webpage management
  • Counts the safe in the morning and cash out drawers.
  • Gives low quantity orders to Operations Coordinator
  • Finds and/or orders out of stock merchandise and books for students, faculty & staff.
  • Completes department charges by helping place orders and filling them when they arrive.
  • Verifies all bar codes scan before stocking.
  • Keeps web and Insite current and GM up to date with new incoming merchandise
  • Keeps track of Faculty Author books, adding new ones to web site

Keeps current the Best Sellers List of Mass Market Trade Books.

Education & Training

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

Experience

Retail and shipping experience required. College Store experience preferred.

Knowledge

Other

Computer literacy required. Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail a must. Ability to lift 75 pounds frequently.
