Primary Purpose

Supports the further development of the Commons system, under the direction of the Dean of the College.  Primary responsibilities include residential management and information technology issues, as well as other administrative responsibilities from the Office of the Dean of the College.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.

Commons Residential System


Visits residence halls regularly, is accessible to students and is knowledgeable about all facilities. Responds to concerns and suggestions of students regarding residential issues.


 


 


Advises Commons Deans, Commons Faculty Heads and the Dean of the College on housing issues. Establishes strong working relationships with Commons Staff and assists in management of residence halls. Mentors CRAs.


Responsible for all room assignment and draw processes for academic and summer sessions. Works with social and academic interest houses to ensure full capacities. Oversees room change process. Maintains Room Draw web page.


Assigns mailboxes for new students and returning students.


Assists in enrollment planning.


Manages off-campus housing and rebates.  Acts as the liaison to off-campus residents.


Works closely with Facilities Management in the numerous systems necessary for the smooth operation of residences such as set-up, storage, fire safety, etc. and implements systems for leaving and arriving.


Publishes "End of the Year" information for students.


Information Technology


Acts as functional lead for Location Management (LM) data in the Student Module of Banner for Undergraduate Students (UG) data.  Works with LIS technical leads on yearly roll, upgrade and ongoing technical issues in order to ensure efficient operations of the LM data.


Responsible for data maintenance and process integration issues regarding housing information among various users of UG student data such as Commons Coordinators and the Office of Student Affairs.


General Administrative Duties


Functions as Editor of the College Handbook.


Fact-finder for Academic Judicial Board.


Liaison to Commons-based intramurals.


 


Performs other duties as assigned to assist the department in obtaining and maintaining its mission.


 

Education & Training

Bachelor's degree.

Experience

3-5 years experience in higher education setting required.

Knowledge

Advanced computer skills required, experience with SCT-Banner highly desirable. Familiarity with the following programs: Microsoft Word, Outlook, AS/400, Excel and Web applications (CMS).  Knowledge of College policies and procedures helpful.
