Primary Purpose

The Residential Systems Coordinator manages campus housing in order to support the goals of the Commons system, under the direction of Associate Dean of the College. Coordinates the flow of information and data between the Commons and other offices on campus.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.

  • Manages residential housing for academic sessions, both on and off-campus, including room assignment and room draw processes.
  • Works with social and academic interest houses to ensure full capacities.
  • Visits residence halls regularly, is accessible to students and is knowledgeable about all facilities.
  • Responds to concerns and suggestions of students regarding residential issues.
  • Advises Commons Deans, Commons Heads and Associate Dean of the College on housing issues.
  • Establishes strong working relationships with Commons Staff in order to assist in management of residence halls.
  • Works closely with Facilities Management in the numerous systems necessary for the smooth operation of residences such as set-up, storage, fire safety, etc. and implements systems for leaving and arriving.
  • Works with Public Safety to coordinate move-in/move-out processes and other housing arrangements.
  • Manages and updates housing web site.
  • Helps to train new Commons Coordinators; provides back-up when long-term coverage is needed.
  • Acts as functional lead for Location Management (LM) data in the Student Module of Banner for Undergraduate Students (UG) data.
  • Administers the alcohol citation system.
  • Administers Dorm Damage system.
  • Coordinates other Residential Life events and projects as needed.

Education & Training

Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

3 - 5 years experience in residential academic setting. Banner experience preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of constituents.
