*Develops and implements ADA program policies, procedures and services.
*Communicates program activities, services and outcomes to institutional administrators and departments.
*Maintains current knowledge regarding ADA issues in higher education.
*Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging issues in disability services.
*Administers ADA office budget.
*Evaluates/compiles reports of ADA office activities/services.
*Distributes ADA office information to campus department (e.g. Health Services, Counseling Services).
*Acts as an ADA liaison between faculty, staff, Facilities Management, Admissions, Office of Academic Support, Commons Administration, Counseling and Human Relations, Dean of Student Affairs, College Advancement, Library and Information Systems, ITS and the Health Center.
*Organizes the agenda, sets up meetings and keeps administrative minutes for the appointed committee of faculty and staff who respond to the individual Acts as a contact person for student and campus ADA issues.
*Coordinates and administers ADA-related services to students with disabilities including note-taking services, auxiliary aides, reader services, scribe services, interpreter services and ADA equipment services.
*Researches and compiles educational materials for the ADA office.
*Supervises ADA-related aspects of Convocation, Baccalaureate Service and Commencement Exercises and Reunions.
*Provides ADA administrative support to the Language Schools, Middlebury schools abroad, Study Abroad Program, Breadloaf School of English, the Writer's Conference and the Middlebury-related programs.
*Conducts campus-wide disability awareness activities.
*Serves on campus committees to develop institutional policies and procedures and address regulatory issues regarding students with disabilities.
*Responds to inquiries from current and prospective students or parents.
*Consults with students about appropriate individualized accommodations based on documentation.
*Processes program eligibility requests for services based upon documentation of a disability.
*Arranges individualized accommodations for students (e.g. testing accommodations).
*Serves as an advocate for students with certified disabilities.
*Assists students in self-monitoring the effectiveness of accommodations.
*Supervises office staff and student employees.
*Maintains confidential records.
*Handles phone inquiries.
*Handles and prepares correspondence.
