Serves as the College Judicial Affairs Officer and provides leadership in the areas of student research opportunities, Administration Committee, the formation of the Sexual Assault Oversight Committee, the Office of Institutional Diversity, Health and Wellness, and additional Dean of the College projects.

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
Judicial Affairs Officer Oversee all aspects of the College judicial system, including the Community Judicial Board, Academic Judicial Board, and Appeals Board.
- Coordinate selction of all board members.
- Develop and lead training of all board members.
- Meet with Commons deans on a weekly basis to determine appropriate responses to non-academic policy infractions.
- Conduct Judicial Officer intervention meetings with students as appropriate.
- Coordinate all logistics and materials for board meetings.
- Design and direct Honor Code orientation for all new students and faculty.
- Evaluate related Handbook policy as required.
- Chair Honor Code Review Committee in 2008-2009.
Sexual Assault Oversight Committee Lead the development of a permanent committee charged wth oversight of all areas of sexual assault.
- Formalize the charge of the Committee to oversee judicial processes and procedures; resources and support; education and prevention; and assessment.
- Convene all committee and sub-committee meetings.
- Build student, faculty, and staff membership.
- Work with committee members to set and pursue short-and long-term agenda.
- Conduct initial campus-wide needs assessment and establish permanent assessment protocols as appropriate.
- Serve as committee liaison with WomenSafe.
Administration Committee Serve as co-chair and secretary to the Administration Committee.
- Prepare weekly agenda and summaries of all petitions.
- Co-chair meetings and oversee presentation of all petitions to members.
- Conduct research on petitions for committee as necessary.
- With co-chair, serve as Administration Committee liaison to all campus and external constituencies about committee decisions and College policies.
- Supervise Administrative Associate in collection of relevant materials, preparation of files, and drafting of decision records for ratification by Faculty Committee.
- Author and finalize drafts of all corrrespondence to student and faculty petitioners.
- Attend monthly faculty meetings to represent committee with co-chair.
- Serve as liaison to the Enrollment Committee.
Student Research Develop and support student access to funding for undergraduate and post-graduate research and experiential learning opportunities.
- Partner with Associate Dean of Undergraduate Research in the following areas:
- Develop the Office of Undergraduate Research
- Plan and oversee all aspects of the annual Spring Student Symposium
- Oversee Senior Work Fellowship
- Identify college-wide concerns and develop solutions related to student research funding and promotion
- Develop new materials and resources as needed
- Administer Middlebury internal funding opportunities: Senior Work Fund, Senior Work Fellowship (with URO), Student Academic Conference Travel Fund, and Tree House Fund.
- Administer external funding opportunities: Watson, Truman, Cooke, Liebmann, St. Andrews, Mitchell, Rhodes, Marshall.
- Develop and manage database of internal and external academic grants, fellowships, scholarships, and internships.
Office of Institutional Diversity Work with Vice President for institutional planning and diversity on supporting the College's diversity-related goals.
- Develop and support educational programming for the campus on diversity-related skills and topics, including but not limited to, the Beyond Facebook program, external speakers and presentations, winter term workshops, and other campus events.
- Support and participate in student leadership retreats, including Posse retreats, environmental/cultural leadership retreats, and other ongoing workshops and programs.
- Serve as liaison for diversity-related opportunities and concerns within the Dean of the College division.
Student Health and Wellness Director Liaison Work with Health and Wellness Director and Health Center Director to support the work of that office.
Dean of the College Projects Assume responsibility for special projects as needed, including but not limited to:
- Sharing leadership responsibilities for the Community Values Initiative.
- Developing and participating in task forces, ad hoc working groups, and hiring teams.
- Performing other duties as assigned to assist department in obtaining and maintaining its mission.
Supervision
- Supervise Dean of the College Administrative Associate responsible for providing support to the Administration Committee, judicial boards, Orientation, and select Middlebury student research funding programs.
- Supervise Residential Systems Coordinator responsible for all academic-year student housing operations.
- Supervise Assistant to the Dean of the College for Commencement and Special Projects.
