Primary Purpose |
|
Participate in training faculty, staff and students as necessary to empower them to coordinate catering services and disseminate the information independently. Assist in the development of reference guides & instructional tools designed to support campus event planners in the coordination of catering services for events. Develop support tools to enable non-college caterers to acclimate to the campus and operate within the boundaries defined in the catering contract.

Responsibilities |
Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
- Provide support services to all on-campus event planners, as required, to facilitate successful communications with non-college caterers.
- Develop a non-college catering “supply kit” that will be given to new caterers as part of training to enable them to arrive on campus, know where to go & how to function in any venue they may be entering.
- Develop a “plan of action” for how events will be scheduled & coordinated with Dining Services – when scheduled in Dining venues – and how that information will flow back and forth to enable a centralized communication point in R25.
- Troubleshoot issues pertaining to non-college catering services for campus events on an as needed basis.
- Identify enhancements to online forms and R25 that will facilitate clear information to enable information to be disseminated to campus service providers
- Participate in updating the Events Scheduling & Information Office web site to empower the campus and non-college caterers to locate information needed to plan events.
- Coordinate the catering tools with College service providers as necessary to create consistent information.
- Make recommendations for improving process flow to enable smooth coordination of contracted catering services and the dissemination of the information important to facilitate successful events.
- Performs other duties as assigned to assist the department in obtaining and maintaining its mission.

Education & Training |
|
High school diploma with Administrative Assistant training or equivalent experience.
|
Experience |
|
Required: Experience in a busy office atmosphere, strong customer service and organizational skills.
|
Knowledge |
|
Must have knowledge of campus facilities and familiarity with catering operations. Computer literacy, familiarity with Microsoft Office, Web page, email, file sharing knowledge helpful. Good writing skills required.
|
Other |
|
Strong organizational and communication skills, work under pressure with frequent interruptions. Ability to work independently, without supervision, and to prioritize essential tasks. Position may include the need to climb stairs, operate a computer for long periods of time, and complete errands across campus.
