Primary Purpose

Oversees all catered functions to ensure that services are performed in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.

Schedules and conducts training workshops for catering team members to discuss proper service methods and procedures.


Reviews catering schedules and coordinates room setup and food service setup.


Oversees all production throughout the catered event including service of all food items, bar area set-up and service and oversees cleanup and breakdown.


Directs all catering team members throughout the event; determines pace and timing of service and anticipates needs and problems and directs staff to area to cover any potential sources of conflict.


Assumes responsibility for the care, upkeep and inventory of Kirk Alumni Center kitchen during catering functions.

Education & Training

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience

Requires 1-2 years of experience in catering preparation and production to ensure proper and professional service.

Knowledge

Must have knowledge of proper serving techniques and standards.

Other

Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. frequently during the day and up to 50 lbs. a few times each day. Must be able to push and pull up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Requires long periods of time standing and frequent walking. Also requires frequent bending and reaching. May require overtime.
