Primary Purpose |
|
Sets up deli workstation with appropriate foods and backups for service, ensuring that food is fresh and at proper storage temperatures. Makes wraps during lunch and prepares sandwiches for students; packs bag lunches upon request.

Responsibilities |
Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
Maintains a clean and sanitary work area and uses proper precautions to ensure that foods are rotated properly. Cleans work area after shift and maintains an orderly deli area. *Prepares sandwich orders by customer with speed, efficiency and courtesy; keeps an accurate count of the number of lunches made. *Makes wraps to order during lunch according to the special of the day using the 5-week menu cycle (approximately 75-150 wraps daily). *Prepares bag lunches for varsity as well as club sports teams who have pre-ordered bag lunches. (Bag lunches for Fridays and Saturdays average 200; weekday bag lunches average 50 per day.) Organizes order forms for athletic teams to ensure their needs are provided for. *Prepares sandwich/wrap platters for catering staff as needed for catered events. Stocks coolers every day according to amount of food used. *Must be able to work in servery area when deli is not open.

Education & Training |
|
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be NIFI certified in various sanitary procedures and proper food storage techniques.

Experience |
|
Previous food service experience required.

Knowledge |
|
Must have knowledge of food preparation methods, qualities, measurements and proper food storage techniques.

Other |
|
Must have good organizational skills, communication skills, customer service skills and possess an open mind regarding suggestions and comments by students and managers. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with speed and accuracy. Must be flexible and have a positive attitude about staying after hours because of late bag lunch orders. Must physically be able to lift 10-20 lbs. frequently during the day and up to 40 lbs a few times each day. Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs. frequently. Requires long periods of time standing. Also requires frequent bending and reaching.
