Primary Purpose

The Benefits/Compensation Clerk provides clerical support to the Human Resources Benefits and Compensation function.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.

  • Files documents.*
  • Scans and indexes documents.*
  • Photocopies materials.*
  • Prepares communication materials by photocopying documents, putting together binders, etc.*
  • Re-orders office supplies.
  • Schedules meetings and appointments and arranges for services and equipment, as needed.*
  • Types job descriptions and other documents.*
  • Enters data in database and spreadsheets.*
  • Assists in verifying/proofing/auditing of data.
  • Maintains written procedures for function.*
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Education & Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • 1+ years of clerical experience.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of basic office practices (filing, phone etiquette, proper document layout) as well as office technology (photocopiers, scanners, faxes).

Other

  • Must have good data-entry/typing skills and working knowledge of basic office software (word-processing, database, and spreadsheet).
  • Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and able to maintain confidentiality of information, and be customer-service oriented.
