Primary Purpose |
|
Middlebury will be going through their 10-year accreditation cycle in the next several years. This position will support the work of committees that are appointed to review the 11 different New England Association of Schools and Colleges Standards for Accreditation. These committees will function for 18 months to two years, and will do a thorough review of the activities of the college in each of the areas of the standards. In addition, the committees will be expected to appraise the current situation regarding each of the areas of the standards and also raise issues where the college may not be fully meeting the standards and also recommend a course of action to lead to compliance.

Responsibilities |

- Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors. This person must have the ability to work independently, and also have broad knowledge of the college and its administrative operations. This position will work with chairs of existing and newly created committees, and will be expected to help organize meetings and also meet the data requests from the committees.
- This coordinator will support the work of the committees, including organizing data and tracking data requests through completion. All of the supporting materials used in the self study must be organized in a way that the visiting team can access easily both electronically, in a work room on campus, and in an off-site location (usually a local hotel).
- After the self-study is completed, a visiting team of peers (mentioned above) from like institutions will visit Middlebury for 4 days and meet with a large number of people on campus. The coordinator will help organize those meetings and also the arrangements for the visiting team (hotel rooms, meals, computers for use, food, etc).
- New to the accreditation process is the requirement that the college chose a system for describing and monitoring student leaning. There are a new series of data forms that need to be completed, and completion of those forms with all supporting data will be the responsibility of this position.

Bachelor's degree required, Master’s preferred.

Experience |

Prior exposure to the Web, research methods and to the administration of higher education is highly desirable.

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SPSS or SAS.
