Provides Middlebury College with regular daily delivery of letters and packages.

Responsibilities |
Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
1. Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from the Student Mail Center Supervisor.
2. Using the "Smart Track" scanning system, processes incoming Federal Express, DHL/Airborne Express, United Parcel Services (UPS), Unites States Postal Systems (USPS), Registered, Certified, Insured and Express mail/packages. Also scans the same for campus-wide delivery.
3. Sorts and distributes by hand for delivery all incoming U.S. mail to campus departments/buildings and student mailboxes that can not be scanned.
4. Drives motorized vehicle to deliver mail daily and substitutes for student employee who don't show up for their mail deliveries.
5. Forwards packages and mail to former Middlebury College affiliates.
6. Assists the Mail Center Supervisor with monthly mail reports, yearly mail reports, daily supervision of student workers and hiring/training of student workers when needed.
7. Maintains a clean work space by vacuuming, mopping and dusting when necessary.
8. Performs other responsibilities as needed in the absence of the Student Mail Center Supervisor.

Education & Training |

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience |
|
Previous experience in mailroom helpful.

Knowledge |
|
Typing or computer knowledge helpful.

Other |
|
Valis driver's license required. Ability to deal with the public, work under pressure and meet daily deadlines. Must be able to lift, push or pull 25-35 pounds regularly and up to 75 occasionally. Requires frequent bending, twisting and reaching overhead.
