Primary Purpose |
|
Consults with the Associate Director for Technology and Instruction on operating procedures and project management for the development of desktop and network applications to address the computer software application needs of Project 2001. Specifically, manages the development team involved in the continuing development of xMediaEngine-XP and any related computer software applications. Manages ongoing and new development of interactive Web-based learning and administrative computer software applications for Project 2001 purposes.

Responsibilities |
Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
Analyzes existing CET software development procedures and serves as a consulting development manager for applications software development and source code version control for Project 2001 computer software development projects.
Coordinates and manages other source code related projects maintained by other CET engaged developers.
Gathers CET software deployment data, manages bug reporting and prepares and recommends response strategies.
Manages WebObjects applications development to implement interactive web-based learning software in the humanities and social sciences (and particularly in foreign languages), and administrative computer software applications such as online registration forms connected to CET databases and media libraries, etc.
Manages development of the CET web site and HTML source code control.
Consults with the CET System Administrator in network and systems administration and makes deployment recommendations.
Provides instruction to CET staff in software systems deployment and conducts occasional workshops in software development and software project management for Project 2001.

College degree required.

Experience |
|
3-5 years' experience in commercial and/or academic software development. 3-5 years' applications development and project management experience with Objective-C and OpenStep/YellowBox development environment, including source code control systems management and deployment experience in the development and maintenance of a WebObjects or other interactive web technology based web site.

Knowledge |
|
Source code control systems. Objective-C (C++ and Java) programming experience desirable. Solid, demonstrated understanding and command of the Openstep/YellowBox Foundation Kit and AppKit. Enterprise Object Frameworks and WebObjects.
