Coordinates the development of programs and curricula for distance and technology-enabled education at CET, with initial emphasis on the following:
Works with the Associate Director for ESL/TESOL programs to develop and implement technology-enhanced and distance education components.
Provides consulting services and assists with the development of training opportunities for educators who wish to explore distance education and other instructional technologies, focusing initially on the cultivation of contacts/clients in the secondary and corporate areas.
Coordinates with and complements the efforts of other members of the CET management team whose focus is currently on post-secondary language instruction.
Contributes to programming that addresses the pedagogical dimensions of technology-enabled instruction by working with other members of the CET management team to develop and deliver training and materials to teachers, graduate students and undergraduate interns in new and existing programs.
Researches and publishes in the fields of curricular design, use of technology in education, teacher training and distance education practice and assessment.
Promotes and creates distance ed programming as part of the CET initiative. Participates in relevant professional organizations and promotes CET and Middlebury in the distance education field.
Participates as part of CET management team to accomplish the overall goals of CET:
Participates in planning, visioning, exploring and preparing for the future.
Shares ideas for other aspects of programming and management of CET.
