Oversees all staff working for the Office of Off-Campus Study under the supervision of the Director.
Oversees all applications from Middlebury students to study abroad on either Middlebury or non-Middlebury programs.
Oversees applications from non-Middlebury students to study at Middlebury Schools abroad.
Acts as Office Manager of Middlebury Office of Off-Campus Study, with ultimate responsibility for the gathering and maintenance of all research materials, the creation and updating of Web pages, all relations with students (written, phone, e-mail, office visits), organization of application process and the creation and maintenance of databases.
Oversees student advising process, with particular responsibility for placement at Russian sites.
Oversees operation of Middlebury School in Russia (3 sites) in 1997-98 and other schools in due course.
Assists Resident Directors in development/management of all aspects of programs.
Serves as budget administrator for School in Russia program.
In concert with College marketing person, creates, administers and oversees marketing strategies for Schools Abroad, including creation of materials and establishment of recruiting schedules for two recruiters.
Manages all communications with Russian Consortium members and other U.S. colleges and universities.
Oversees all communications with participating students and parents, from initial inquiries, through visa applications, health insurance, international travel arrangements, departure, period on site, to final return, compeltion of program evaluations and issuance of credit.
Helps develop re-entry programs for returning Middlebury students.
Maintains relations with alumni of former ACC and Schools Abroad programs and creates and edits Alumni Newsletter.
Oversees preparation and distribution of pre-departure orientation materials and coordinate Russian orientation.
Monitors student and program progress and works with faculty, students and Resident Directors to evaluate programs abroad and update all academic and orientation materials.
Consults with and solicits information from member school deans, professors and study abroad professionals concerning all aspects and further development of Schools Abroad.
Develops strategies for program growth, including internship development, and helps develop potential agreements with new or additional universities, as needed.
Represents the Schools Abroad at professional conferences and during regular site visits to consortium and other schools across the country.
Interviews, hires, trains and supervisea new employees, both on-site and at Middlebury.
Travels, with Resident Director, to each site in Russia once during academic year to meet with on-site coordinators, university administrators and professors and American students.
