Primary Purpose

The Course Scheduler and AP Credit Specialist coordinates the scheduling of all courses and course related activities for the College, while executing a variety of technical administrative record keeping functions in support of the Registrars Office mission to students, staff, faculty, and alumni.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.

Manages all course-related scheduling for the College.

Responsible for knowledge, aptitude, and application of Resource 25 and the Interface, website maintenance, course scheduling guidelines, room attributes, scheduling reports, and general course scheduling procedures.

Advises and problem-solves with and for faculty and academic coordinators.

Interprets Middlebury College Advanced Placement Credit policy for students, student applicants, faculty and staff.

Guides students through the process of adding Advanced Placement Credits.

Posts and notifies students of all AP credit awarded to student academic records.

Serves as primary contact for First-Year Seminar Registration.

Facilitates online registration for new students.

Identifies, contacts and supports students who failed to register by the deadline.

Manually registers students who were unable to do so via the Web.

Finalizes registration once FYSE placements have been assigned.

Participates in major Registrars Office seasonal functions including registration of first-year and continuing students, processing add/drops, grade entry, issuance of transcripts, and commencement preparations.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education & Training

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).

Experience

Minimum of two years experience in a college/university registrar's office or closely related environment required. Experience with databases, Banner, and the Web required.

Knowledge

Familiarity with scheduling software such as Resource 25 desired. The handling of confidential information is essential.

Must have the ability to work independently, balancing a broad variety of priorities. Must possess a keen sense of detail, excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and good judgment. Must possess the ability to deal effectively with a broad clientele including faculty, staff, and undergraduate students in a busy office environment.
