The Assistant Director of Educational Financing is a key member of the SFS management team. An in-depth knowledge of federal loan regulations, institutional and alternative loan methods and payment plan processes is required.
In addition, a working knowledge of financial aid need analysis is required.
Also, knowledge of billing, collection, and cashiering principles, institutional aid budget development, and accounting principles and methods for receivables and loans is required. In addition, knowledge of the SCT Banner system specifically as it relates to the financial aid, student accounts receivable, and finance modules, is required.
Finally, a strong commitment to service to parents and students is required for the success of the student financial services group. Therefore, a strong commitment to service is an essential and mandatory trait of the Assistant Director of Educational Financing.
The Assistant Director of Educational Financing comes in contact with many different personalities and types of people. The goodwill of the College must be reflected to all who come in contact with the Assistant Director, while utilizing appropriate measures to preserve the College's rights, resources, financial integrity and reputation in every instance. The Assistant Director is routinely involved in highly sensitive matters; errors in judgment could adversely affect the financial integrity and the reputation of the College.
