Primary Purpose

As a part of the National Campus Compact Network, Vermont Campus Compact is a consortium of college presidents committed to the civic purposes of higher education and the value of integrating service into students' learning. Member institutions include public, private. 2 year, 4 year, and graduate institutions throughout Vermont. VCC is housed at Middlebury College.


VCC seeks a qualified candidate to manage the administrative functions of the VCC office and coordinate event logistics. Currently a part-time, grant-funded position, the Office Manager will work as a member of a dynamic team in a learning organization and will possess strong organizational and detail focus.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.

*Work with the VCC Executive Director to ensure financial accountability of VCC grants and programs;


*Manage financial reporting requirements of all VCCC grants;


*Prepare and submit monthly financial reports to the Executive Director.


*Develop systems, schedules, and coordination among VCC staff and Middlebury College Grants and Accounting Offices to ensure efficient and accurate grants management systems, including systems for tracking cost share component of grants, when required;


*Work with VCC Program Coordinator and other VCC staff to ensure other grants requirements are met;


*Coordinate logistics and administrative details regarding VCC events and activities.


*Organize and maintain office for smooth operations, including files, supplies, mail, etc.


*Oversee administrative functions of the office, including mailings, ordering supplies, communication with Middlebury facilities and other offices.


*Maintain VCC database, including membership, invoicing and other purposes.


*Supervise work-study students who provide administrative support.


*Advance mission and goals of VCC;


*Other tasks as assigned, particularly related to office management, logistics management, and grants coordination at VCC.

Education & Training

*Bachelor's or Associate's degree, with additional experience is preferred.

Experience

*Administrative experience in a busy office.


*Demonstrated experience and excellence in organizational & administrative skills, grants and financial management systems, word processing; office management, database, and events and logistics coordination skills and added benefit.

Position is an hourly part-time position through Middlebury College, with wages commensurate with experience and a generous pro-rated benefits package.
