If you do not have the original room key that was issued to you, a temporary replacement key will be issued for 24 hours.  If that key is not returned by the deadline the Department of Public Safety will notify the College locksmith of the need to change the lock.

If you find the original key, both keys (the replacement key and the original) must be presented at the Department of Public Safety.  The replacement key will be returned to the key inventory, and Public Safety will notify the locksmith that all keys are accounted for.

Important:  In order to prevent the lock change and the subsequent bill, a student must present both keys at Public Safety within 24 hours of the issuance of the replacement key.  One of the keys must be retained by Public Safety.  A member of Public Safety must verify that the missing key has been located, using its unique identifier.  Unless the original key is presented, a lock change will occur.

If you cannot find the original key, the locksmith will change the lock to the room and a fee of $100.00 will be charged to your student account.

Key returned after work order placed, but before lock change $50.00.

Key is not returned or is returned after lock change $100.00.
