Officers Honored by Student Government Association
On April 28, 2005, two Department of Public Safety officers were recognized by the Student Government Association at the SGA Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon. Officers Christopher Thompson and Brian Tarmy were nominated for the Rodney and Beverly DeGray Staff Appreciation Award by students through a survey conducted by the SGA.
Officer Thompson was the recipient of the award. Students who nominated Officer Thompson for the award stated, in part, that he "is respected and liked across the student body…even though his job entails issuing citations and incident reports, he is nothing short of a friend…"
Officer Tarmy was nominated for this award for conducting enforcement of College rules "without being tyrannical, always being helpful, and is a great guy (who is) always willing to talk to us, and not just act as an authority figure."
The staff at the Department of Public Safety is pleased to see these officers recognized for their efforts.
