Melody served as the department's Assistant Director for Administration from 2002-2006. She returned to the department in May of 2008 as staff trainer, investigator, and to serve as Acting Director when needed. Melody holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont. She is a fifteen year veteran of the Vermont State Police, serving from 1987-2002.
