How is class standing determined for the upcoming BannerWeb Registration?
Credit-based class categories are calculated from the total number of Middlebury undergraduate credits already earned, including summer language school, in progress credits, and any transfer credits a student may have earned. Once the current class category has been determined, from the BannerWeb page students will see the credit-based class standing to which they have been assigned. When students sign on to BannerWeb for Round One, they see their calculated class standing by checking the "Check your Registration Status" BannerWeb page for Winter and Spring 2009 terms. Students should direct any concerns about their class standing to the Registrar's Office by emailing the Registrar's Office.
**Class categories are determined once for Winter Term and again for Spring semester. Registering for a Winter Term coruse can change the class category for some students for the Spring registration.
**Students who are studying abroad have had their in-progress credits accounted for in the class calculation as well.
** Testing credits earned through AP or IB, for example, do not count toward the credit-based class standing.
