Welcome to the Office of the Secretary of the College on the Web.
This office is part of the Office of the President, and works closely with the President's Office on academic ceremonies such as Convocation, Senior Awards, and Commencement. The Secretary's office is also responsible for the academic calendar, awards such as the Middlebury College Citizens' Medal and the Staff Recognition Awards, the Clifford Symposium, and other symposia and lectures.
John D. Emerson, Charles A. Dana Professor of Mathematics, is now serving as Secretary of the College. Professor Emerson is a member of the academic administration.
