Pay Level Criteria
  • Requires no previous training or special skills other than basic computer skills
  • Requires minimum and finite on-the-job training
  • Does not require supervision of others
  • Requires some independence, but also some supervision

Specific Responsibilities
  • Provide coverage of front desk during the lunch hour (slot is flexible between 11:30 and 2) for 1.5 hours Monday through Friday for a total of 8 hours.
  • Answer phones
  • Greet students and other visitors to CSO
  • Possibility for the occasional addition of a few extra hours at other times of day if needed
  • Make appointments using Microsoft Outlook
  • Provide brief explanations of career library resources (books and web site)
  • Be able to answer wide variety of questions on career-related topics (training will be provided)
  • Assist with data entry and various projects
  • Assist with other projects such as preparing CSO’s weekly Campus advertisement
  • Maintain order in office by checking and refilling paper in printers, photo copier, and fax machines as needed
  • General Event Attendance: The student selected for this position will be required to attend at least three specific CSO events during the year (more information will be available from the supervisor).

  • Preferred candidate will have experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Must also be able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
