April 14 through 18 is National Student Employment Week. The purpose of this week is to recognize students who perform outstanding work while attending college and to enhance awareness of student employment and its important role in higher education experience.
Members of the Middlebury College Student Employment Office are busy planning activities to celebrate National Student Employment Week. Yes, that means prizes and treats! Click here to see a calendar of events for the week.
One event that you may have already heard about is the Student Employee of the Year Award. While contributions made by all student employees are important, this award seeks to acknowledge the student whose performance is exceptional. Supervisors were asked to nominate student employees (who had worked for at least 3 months) who had a track record of producing quality work and communicating effectively with students, staff, faulty and/or parents. These nominees were judged on reliability, quality of work, initiative, attitude and contribution to the department.
The ten finalists are listed below in alphabetical order. On Tuesday, April 15th, the 2008 Student Employee of the Year will be announced. The celebration will take place at 4:30pm in Hepburn Lounge. Dean of the College, Tim Spears will be presenting the awards. Come cheer on your student employee colleagues!
