UNCF-MERCK SCIENCE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS
- PURPOSE
- To encourage the interest of African American undergraduate students in furthering their science education and pursuing biomedical science careers by providing tuition support and opportunities for research experience in a state-of-the-art industrial laboratory.
- AWARD
- Tuition scholarship up to $25,000, and two summer internship stipends totaling a minimum of $10,000.
- NUMBER OFFERED
- At least 15 given each year.
- FIELD
Biomedical Research
ELIGIBILITY
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- African American
- a degree candidate in the 2008-09 academic year
- life or physical science major interested in biomedical research.
- minimum GPA 3.3
- committed to two summer internships at a Merck research facility.
DEADLINE
For 2008 cycle, deadline TBA: probably a postmark deadline of 12/15/07. Application sent through applicant's science department.
