If you move from one room to another, you are assigned a new extension and voice mailbox. Your Commons Coordinator makes this change on your housing record. Your directory information is updated overnight. Extensions in Doubles:
Telephone extensions are marked on the jack and on the telephone in your room. If you are in doubt as to what extension is assigned to a phone, call the campus operator (dial 0) from that phone and ask the operator to identify the number. If you choose to occupy a bed on the other side of the room from where your assigned extension is located, you have two options. You can purchase a longer line cord to bring the phone closer to your side of the room. Or, if you want the extension located closest to you to be your extension, contact your Commons Coordinator to switch the bed assignment on your housing record. You and your roommate's extensions, voice mailboxes, and online directory information will be changed to the new numbers overnight.
