Federal Stafford Loans have an interest rate of 5.6% for subsidized loans, and 6.8% for unsubsidized loans. Repayment on the Federal Stafford Loans begins six months after the student graduates or leaves college.

Maximum Undergraduate Level Stafford Loan Eligibility

    First Year     $3,500

    Sophomore  $4,500

    Junior          $5,500

    Senior          $5,500

    All undergraduates are eligible to borrow an 
    additional $2,000 unsubsidized loan.

Maximum Graduate Level Federal Stafford Loan Eligibility

    Subsidized    $8,500

    Unsubsidized $12,000

  • 2009-2010 FAFSA form, apply on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov
  • The FAFSA form by itself is NOT an application for a Federal loan.  See above to make application with a lender.
  • Consortium Agreement if the student will be studying abroad at a Non-Middlebury program.
