Also in March of 2006, Alumni College took Marine Biology on the road to Monterey, CA. More than a dozen alumni and friends joined Alumni College favorite, Professor Sallie Sheldon, and faculty from the Monterey Institute and scientists from the Monterey Bay Aquarium for an on-site course on marine biology. Beautiful Monterey on the California coast, is the home of the world renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium, as well as the newest addition to the Middlebury family, the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Accommodations were at the Portola Plaza Hotel, on Fisherman's Wharf in the heart of Old Monterey.
