As mentioned in the Classmates section of this site, exhibits of Eleanor Vinke Sweeney's artwork have included a recent exhibition at the Southern Vermont Art Center, in Manchester, from December 1, 2004, through January 9, with an opening reception on December 4. Eleanor explains her techniques as follows:
"For the last several years, I have been experimenting with various types of alternative photography, such as cyanotype, Liquid Light and especially Polaroid transfer. This is the process of separating an underdeveloped Polaroid peel-apart print and pressing the negative onto a receptor sheet, such as watercolor paper or fabric, to transfer the 35mm slides that I work from, including an $18 Holga camera that has multiple images, which seem to reflect the passage of time and the endless ways of looking at or thinking about something.
"As you can tell from the pictures I have also been doing some traveling recently. I'm busy with a cooperative gallery in Saranac Lake. Now I have three grandchildren, two boys and a happy little girl recently adopted in China."
