The Alumni Admissions Program was established in 1974 to use the energy and enthusiasm of Middlebury alumni in the continuing effort to attract outstanding students to the College. There are now about 2,400 alumni assigned to individual committees (ranging in size from three to more than 150 people), defined by either the volunteers' country, state or community of residence. Each committee is headed by an alumni chairperson who arranges personal contacts with Middlebury graduates for applicants from the committee area.

Volunteers conduct up to six interviews with prospective students to provide information about Middlebury and to submit comments about each student contacted. In addition to meeting with nearly 3,600 candidates each year, alumni volunteers represent Middlebury at local college fairs in the fall and spring and organize spring enrollment events for admitted students worldwide.

The Admissions Office attempts to assign alumni representatives to applicants living nearby. Alumni interviews are typically scheduled during the month of February.

In addition to making personal contact with prospective students, alumni sponsor book awards at a number of high schools to honor high-achieving students.

Middlebury graduates may join the AAP by submitting the online registration form.

AAP members will be provided with a user name and password to access a restricted site that provides additional information.

Anyone with questions about the Alumni Admissions Program should contact the Admissions Office.
