The Middlebury College Book Award program is designed to recognize outstanding students in their junior year at high schools throughout the world. These awards are sponsored by alumni and friends of the College who wish to assist in attracting the best and the brightest to Middlebury. The book we selected for this year is Ignition: What You Can Do to Fight Global Warming and Spark a Movement, by Jonathan Isham and Sissel Waage. Isham is a Professor of International Economics at Middlebury College, and Waage is an independent consultant who works on environmental and sustainability issues globally. Ignition provides us hope that the environmental-social movement has the ability to combat climate change.
