Morgan Alexander Jones, known to many as "MoJo," graduated from Middlebury College in the class of 2004. He was a Chinese language and culture studies major and also played a large role in the Middlebury College Dance department by implementing a breakdancing workshop and participating in several of their shows. Jones founded the Middlebury College Generation Today Breakdancing Club (GTVT) and was also a member of AAA, MASO, RIDDIM, DMC, and participated in many events for Wonnacott Commons.
Jones is now in Nanjing, China, studying at the Nanjing-Hopkins Center for American and Chinese Studies with Nanjing University and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies program. He is currently taking classes in Chinese politics, economics, history, and law, entirely in Chinese.
In addition to his classes, MoJo is a resident Hip-Hop DJ, English teacher for the MBA program at Nanjing University, youth leader for his church, and has also joined a local breaking group called the Dragon Dancer Crew. With this dance crew, MoJo has competed in several all-China pop and breakdance competitions and has made some headlines in the local papers for his successes.
Most recently, Mojo started a breakdancing class at Nanjing University along with the Dragon Dancer Crew in Nanjing China. The class is 2 times a week and is open for the entire Nanjing community. He is also working on a project bring NYC breakdancers to Shanghai to do a night time performance for a Shanghai nightlife magazine entitled "High." The NYC breakdancing crew's name is Voltron, and is a breaking group he is also affiliated with
MoJo hopes that with the skills he is picking up after college, he will be able to establish a hip-hop related entertainment industry bringing together Asian and Western artists and talent. Overall, MoJo strives to someday make a large impact in Chinese-American relations.
