After graduating, Natalee Vernon '02, a political science and Spanish double major, moved to Maryland where she worked as a legal assistant at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, LLP, for a year. She then moved to New York where she currently resides and works for Bloomberg L.P. as an analytics representative. While at Midd, Natalee participated in FAM, ISO, NCBI, CSO and was also a phonathon caller. She is a former Spanish school attendee as well as a class agent and has remained in close contact with Middlebury since graduating.
Natalee grew up in Kingston, Jamaica, but was fortunate to study abroad here in the U.S. at Midd. She was given the chance through J-term and exchange programs to study also in Spain, Austria, and Mexico. "Middlebury and the rigorous academic experience I had there prepared me well to perform effectively and to compete equally with my peers from elsewhere. I will always be indebted for the friendships I made at Middlebury, for what I learned both in and out of the classroom."
Natalee has been able to keep connected to her Middlebury friends by using the alumni network database, being a class agent, and attending events for the New York chapter of Middlebury alumni. "The great thing about Middlebury and Midd students is that they are always there when you need them – from alumni who graduated years ago to students at Middlebury – everyone's willing to help. I think it's something in the water in Middlebury that causes this. I'm headed back to Middlebury for graduation in a week, and I can't wait to reconnect with professors and friends on campus."
