RiP: A Remix Manifesto

Director Brett Gaylor explores the modern media landscape and the tension between copyright laws and remix culture in this collaborative documentary, available free online for viewers to remix. Johnson Memorial Building, The Gallery of Contemporary Art
Jill Reynolds uses flame-worked glass to explore images and metaphors that connect science and art. While on campus this spring as the Cameron Visiting Artist, she teaches Labudiostudatory Art, an introductory art course incorporating 3D and 4D (time-based) media and techniques that are used to image structures (micro and macro), the poetry related to and inherent in genomics, and “neuro-geography.” This exhibition features new work created while in residence on the Middlebury campus. Alexander Twilight Artist in Residence François Clemmons presents a joyful concert for spring. Clemmons’s distinguished career has taken him from the Metropolitan Opera to the Harlem Spiritual Ensemble. He earned a Grammy Award for his performance as “Sportin’ Life” in Porgy and Bess with the Cleveland Orchestra in 1973. He is perhaps best known for his role as the friendly policeman, Officer Clemmons, on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Free
