Please contact the Box Office at 802-443-MIDD or box_office@middlebury.edu with questions about show content.  As a courtesy to audience members and performers, please use discretion regarding a young child's ability to sit quietly and enjoy a performance.

For the Hirschfield International Film Series, we regret that we are unable to preview all the films and videos—some may be inappropriate for children.  Please use your discretion.

A:

Due to fire and safety regulations, every person who enters a performance space for an event must have a ticket, regardless of age.

A:

There is no formal dress code for arts events.  Many patrons choose to dress up for Performing Arts Series events—but our College students wear a wide array of different clothing styles!

32:
How do I find out if a show is cancelled because of the weather?
A:

It's rare that we cancel performances for the weather—but in that case, you can call our box office at 802-443-MIDD or check our website at www.middlebury.edu/arts.

33:
When should I get there? And what if I'm late for the performance?
A:

It is advisable to arrive 15-30 minutes prior to performances, both because of limited parking in many areas, and to allow enough time to be seated before the curtain time.  As many performances are general admission, coming a few minutes early will give you a better choice of seating.

Latecomer seating is at the discretion of the Front of House staff.  Typically, latecomers are allowed to enter a musical performance during appropriate breaks, but late admittance to theatre and dance performances is rarely permitted.

34:
Who decides what shows to put on?
A:

A variety of faculty, staff, and students choose arts programming every year.  The Performing Arts Series Director is Paul Nelson; the Museum of Art Director is Richard Saunders; and each of the six academic departments present performances as well.  Click on the "Academic Arts Departments" button to the left for more contact information.
