Panel Discussion On Sustainability Features Pro Athletes on April 7th

April 6, 2009

Where do sustainability and athletics meet? Over the last four decades, pro-athletics has taken on a disposable consumer culture. Narcissism rules in sport. Yet now in the face of economic and climate crises, everything must be rethought. Enter the thinkers: on April 7th, Middlebury hosts a panel of people that have examined, combined or worked on behalf of athletics and sustainability. NFL star Dhani Jones, Pro-soccer player Natalie Spilger, and Sports Illustrated Writer, Alex Wolff will answer questions from Middlebury College athletes on sustainability issues. Scholar in residence, Bill McKibben, will introduce the panel.

April 7, 2009 - 6:30PM - BiHall 216.
Sponsored by the Middlebury College Athletic Department and the Environmental Council.
