The Middlebury College women's hockey team opened up its season with a 5-1 win at Williams. The Panthers outshot the Ephs 50-26 on the afternoon as they cruised to the win. Rookie Maggie Melberg (Woody Creek, Colo.) recorded two goals and one assist in her collegiate debut. Seniors Annmarie Cellino (W. Seneca, N.Y.) and Erika Nakamura (Boston, Mass.) each had a goal and an assist in the win, while junior Marjie Billings (Chevy Chase, Md.) scored Middlebury's other goal. First-year player Corey Cooper (Lakeville, Conn.) earned two assists in the win, as junior Lani Wright (Reading Mass.) made 25 saves in goal.
