The Panther women's tennis team wrapped up its fall season at the newly-formatted NEWITT Tournament. Players were paired up with their teammates, playing two singles and a doubles match against their opponent to determine advancement. An "A" and "B" championship flight took place, as well as consolation brackets.

The Middlebury College women's volleyball team took part in a NESCAC Quad at Amherst over the weekend. The Panthers dropped a 3-0 match to the host school on Friday, before doing the same to Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.

The Panther men's soccer team Middlebury saw its 18-game unbeaten streak come to an end as the Panthers dropped a 1-0 contest to Bates at home. The lost is the first for the Panthers since a 2-1 double overtime loss at Keene State on October 23rd of last year, while they suffer their first shutout loss since a 2-0 decision to Keene State on October 25th of 2006. It is also the team's first defeat on their Field Turf surface installed last fall, as they were 14-0-1 entering today's contest.

Middlebury men's tennis player Conrad Olson (Waterloo, Belgium) took part in the ITA Small College Championships at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama on October 16-17. Olson earned his way into the eight-man field by capturing the ITA New England with five wins in late September.

The Panther women's soccer team won for the fourth time in its last five games as they picked up a 2-0 shutout victory over Bates on Dragone Field. The Panthers held a 23-5 shots advantage in the contest, scoring twice in the game's final 13:02 to earn the win.

The Middlebury College football team picked up its 20th consecutive win over Bates by pulling away for a 38-14 victory over the Bobcats on Youngman Field at Alumni Stadium. The Panthers out-gained the Bobcats 456-221 on the afternoon, possessing the ball for over 19 of 30 second half minutes.

The Panther field hockey team scored a season-high nine goals and picked up their 15th consecutive win over Bates, this time with a 9-0 shutout. The Panthers scored five times in the first half and outshot the Bobcats 23-7, holding a 10-2 advantage in penalty corners.

The Middlebury College cross country teams were in action at the University of Albany Invitational meet on Saturday. The meet featured teams from all around the region, in Divisions I, II and III. The men were impressive with a sixth place finish among 22 teams, while the women placed second overall in the 24-team event.
