The Panther track and field teams competed in their first east coast competition of the spring, battling Williams, Amherst and Stevens at the Springfield Invitational. Seven different Middlebury athletes won individual events at the meet as the women won, while the men placed third. Senior Kelley Coughlan (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) qualified for the NCAA's in the triple jump and broke her own school record with a 37'5.25" effort, finishing in second place.

Junior Anne Sullivan (Westport, Conn.) was a winner in the 800 with a time of 2:22.32, while first-year racer Mia Martinez (Ridgewood, N.J.) was victorious in the 100 hurdles in 15.96. Also picking up wins for the women were sophomore Erin Toner (New Providence, N.J.) in the 1500 (4:52.88), sophomore Alice Wisener (Ridgewood, N.J.) in the 400 hurdles (1:05.56) and senior Emer Feighery (Westborough, Mass.) in the pole vault (10'2.75"). Sophomore Annie Rowell (Craftsbury, Vt.) earned second places finishes in the 100 (12.81) and 200 (26.81), as did rookie Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) in the 800 (2:22.76) and 1500 (4:53.68). Coughlan earned a second place finish in the 100 hurdles (16.20), junior Laura Dalton (Simsbury, Conn.) came in second in the 400 hurdles (1:07.79), while sophomore Elizabeth Faust (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) cleared 5'1" in the high jump, good for second place. The women's 4x400 relay team comprised of Wisener, Dalton, sophomore Katy Magill (Boxford, Mass) and first-year racer Rebecca Fanning (Ipswich, Mass.) won the event with a time of 4:11.43.

Sophomore Donovan Dickson (Concord, N.H.) earned a win in the 3,000 steeplechase for the men, finishing the race with a time of 10:00.44. Also earning a victory on the men's side was first-year thrower Alexander Myerson (Mercer Island, Wash.), who won the discus with a toss of 126'9". Rookie Silas Wong (Needham, Mass.) finished second in the triple jump (39'10.5"), sophomore Connor Wood (Chicago, Ill.) came in third in the 800 (2:03.05), while sophomore Addison Godine (Milton, Mass.) was third in the 1500 (4:11.24). Other third place finishers for the men were first-year racer Jason Mooty (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) in the 400 hurdles (59.47) and sophomore Nicholas Plugis (Bedford, Mass.) in the javelin (157'5").
