The Panther women's basketball team saw its season come to an end against ninth-ranked Amherst, falling 71-49 at Pepin Gym. The Jeffs, who never trailed in the contest, took a 35-18 lead at halftime and weren't threatened in the second half. The Panthers finish their season at 8-15 overall and 2-7 in NESCAC play. Amherst (23-1, 8-1) secured the second seed in the upcoming NESCAC tournament, and will host seventh-seeded Colby on Saturday.

The Middlebury College men's hockey team won for the fourth time in its last five games as the Panthers earned a 3-2 win over Babson in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers held a 33-25 shots advantage on the night.

The Panther indoor track team had several athletes in action at the M.I.T. Invitational over the weekend. The women's 4x400 relay team comprised of sophomores Katy Magill (Boxford, Mass.) and Grace Close (Fox Point, Wis.) along with rookies Julia Sisson (Omaha, Neb.) and Rebecca Fanning (Ipswich, Mass.) won the event with a time of 4:08.74.

Sophomore Anna McNally (St. Paul, Minn.) earned a hat-trick in the second period and rookie Grace Waters (Snyder, N.Y.) added three assists as fifth ranked Middlebury (14-3-4) beat Connecticut College (8-11-1) 7-1 Sunday afternoon.

The Middlebury College women's squash competed in the "B" flight at team nationals this weekend hosted by Harvard. The Panthers battled for the Kurtz Cup as the fifth seed, meeting fourth-seeded Bowdoin in the quarterfinals. After suffering a 6-3 loss, the Panthers battled back to defeat George Washington 8-1 on Saturday and Bates 6-3 on Sunday. Middlebury finishes the season 13th at Team Nationals (this includes all divisions), the Panther's highest national ranking in the past 10 years. Middlebury also sets a school record (33 year history) with 19 wins against just eight losses.

The Panther men's basketball team clinched the top seed for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament for the first time in school history. The Panthers earned the right after a 78-76 double-overtime win at Trinity. The win extends Middlebury's school-record winning streak to 17 games.

The Middlebury College ski team turned in its best performance of the year as the Panthers placed second overall at the Dartmouth Carnival. The host school won the events with 921 points, followed by Middlebury (842), UVM (779) and UNH (713.5).
