The Panther women's basketball team saw Taylor Shea of Williams scor 17 of her team-high 24 points in the second half Saturday, rallying Williams past Middlebury, 79-68, at the Chandler Gymnasium. The Ephs trailed Middlebury by as many as 14 points in the first half before cutting that deficit to 10 by the break. A 13-0 run to start the second half gave them a lead and Shea took over down the stretch to help Williams improve to 8-12 overall, 3-2 in the NESCAC.

The Panther men's squash team finished in eighth place among 11 teams in action at the NESCAC Championship hosted by Trinity. The Panthers cruised past Wesleyan 9-0 in a first-round match-up to improve on their school record with their 12th win of the season. Middlebury was then defeated 8-1 by Bates in the quarterfinals, before suffering a 6-3 loss to Hamilton in a consolation match-up. The weekend concluding with a hard-fought 5-4 loss to Bowdoin as sophomore Brian Cady (Rye, N.Y.) earned a 4-0 mark over the weekend.

The Middlebury College indoor track team competed at the Dartmouth Indoor Classic over the weekend. Sophomore Kaitlynn Saldanha (Scarborough, Maine) won the 800, finishing with a time of 2:19.92, while senior Kelley Coughlan (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) captured the triple jump with a 36'9.5" effort. Sophomore Jennifer Brenes (Lawrence, Mass.) earned a second place finish in the 60 meter hurdles (9.22), while placing seventh in the long jump (16'5.75").

The Panther swimming and diving teams battled Williams on Saturday afternoon in the campus natatorium. The Panther men fell 163-134, while the women lost 185-115. Zach Woods (Monroe, N.Y.) had another big weekend for the men, winning three different individual events. The senior captured the 100 back (52.61), 200 back (1:55.62) and the 400 IM (4:17.51).

The Middlebury College nordic and alpine ski teams earned a fourth place finish this weekend at the University of New Hampshire Carnival. Dartmouth won the event (901), followed by UNH (834), UVM (750) and Middlebury (674.5).

The Panther men's hockey team outshot Wesleyan 48-11 as the Panthers scored three second periods goal en route to a 5-2 win over the Cardinals in Kenyon Arena.

The Middlebury College women's squash team ended the weekend in fourth place among 11 teams competing at the NESCAC Championship hosted by Trinity. The Panthers earned an impressive 5-4 win over Bates in the quarterfinals, setting a new school record with their 16th win of the season. Middlebury then lost to eventual champion Trinity 9-0 in the semifinals, before ending the weekend with a tight 5-4 loss to Bowdoin.

Make it eight straight games (7-0-1) without a loss for the Middlebury women's hockey team as they picked up their second straight 6-3 win over a NESCAC school from Maine in Kenyon Arena. After a win over Bowdoin Friday, the Panthers defeated Colby, moving to 11-1-3 overall, 8-1-2 in NESCAC play. The Mules fell to 7-7-3, with a 4-5-2 mark in NESCAC action, as Middlebury took both games from Colby this season after a 3-1 win in Maine on January 10th.

The Middlebury College men's basketball team never trailed on their way to a 67-62 win over Williams at Pepin Gym on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Panthers extend their school-record winning streak to 14, while their Pepin Gym winning streak improves to nine in a row, dating back to last season's 96-59 win over Williams in the NESCAC Tournament. The win leaves Middlebury (18-2, 5-0) atop the NESCAC standings, while Williams (14-6, 4-1) suffers their first conference loss of the season.
