CROSS COUNTRY WOMEN WIN ALBANY INVIT., MEN SEVENTH

The Panther cross country teams took part in the Albany Invitational on Saturday with several Division I, II and III squads. The Panther women won the 24-event race, while the men came in seventh place.
Junior Erin Toner (New Providence, N.J.), first-year racer Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) and junior Sophia Spring (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.) ran together for the Middlebury women, finishing among the race leaders. Spring led the pack in 12th place (18:14.1), with Tousley just .4 seconds behind, followed by Spring, who came in at 18:15.4. Sophomore Claire McIlvennie (Ithaca, N.Y.) finished the race in 21st place (18:23) for the Panthers, while senior Amanda Quinlan (Antrim, N.H.) was 28th (18:35).
Junior Jack Terrett (Sherborn, Mass.) led the men's squad, finishing eighth overall with a time of 25:19. Next for the Panthers was senior Michael Waters (Bedford, Mass.) in 17th place (25:30), followed by first-year racer Jack Davies (Grosse Point, Mich.) in 49th (25:57). Junior Nat Nelson (Concord, N.H.) placed 50th (25:58), while senior Peter Hoffman (Rochester, Minn.) was 86th (26:31) to round out the Panther scorers.
