The Middlebury College track and field teams opened up their home seasons with a meet against Springfield, Bowdoin and Vermont on a beautiful day at the Dragone Track & Field Complex. Springfield won the event, with the Middlebury women placing second and the men third. Eight different Middlebury athletes won events, along with a relay team.

            Senior Laura Dalton (Simsbury, Conn.) earned a win for Middlebury in the 400 hurdles, capturing the event with a time of 1:05.77. Junior Amanda Lee (Lincoln, Neb.) won the 3000 steeplechase (11:24.19), junior Cailey Condit (Leverett, Mass.) captured the 1500 (4:55.85), while junior Kaitlynn Saldanha (Scarborough, Maine) was a winner in the 800 (2:20.95). Other winners for the women were sophomore Claire McIlvennie (Ithaca, N.Y.) in the 5000 (18:52.32) and junior Elizabeth Faust (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) in the high jump (4'11.75"). The 4x400 relay team of senior Anjuli Demers (Dracut, Mass.), sophomore Rebecca Fanning (Ipswich, Mass.), rookie Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) and Dalton won the event with a time of 4:02.55.

            On the men's side, sophomore John Montroy (Mahwah, N.J.) won the 100 hurdles in 15.64, while junior Addison Godine (Milton, Mass.) was a victor in the 800 (1:57.73).
