The Middlebury College distance medley relay team has earned All-American honors at the 2010 Indoor Track Championship. The events were held at the DePauw Indoor Tennis and Track Center on the campus of Depauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
The Middlebury ski team ended its season with a 10th place finish at the 2010 NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Colorado. Denver won the national title with 714 points, followed by Colorado (714), New Mexico (677), Utah (595) and Dartmouth (523). The Panthers finished with 270.5 points, fourth among eastern schools.
Jared Docking put home his own rebound after a shot from Kyle Taylor had been saved, lifting Plattsburgh to a 3-2 overtime victory in an NCAA Quarterfinal game. The goal was the third of the year for Docking, coming just 3:19 into the extra session.
The Middlebury College men's lacrosse team opened up its season with a 9-6 NESCAC victory at Bates on Saturday afternoon. Middlebury junior goalkeeper Ryan Deane (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) had a huge day for the Panthers, making 20 saves, including approximately five from point-blank range.
The Panther men's tennis team began spring play with three matches at home on Saturday. The fourth-ranked Panthers had little trouble with their opponents, beating N.Y.U 9-0, topping Oneonta 8-1, before earning an 8-1 victory over Brandeis.
The Middlebury College women's tennis team opened up its season with a pair of wins at home indoors. The 15th-ranked Panthers opened with a 7-2 win over #29 Brandeis, before topping Wellesley, 6-3.
The Panther women's lacrosse team lost its season-opener for the first time in 21 years, as Middlebury fell to Bates 11-9 on Kohn Field. The win for the Bobcats was their first over the Panthers in the last 17 meetings, dating back to a win by the same score in '94.
