MEN’S GOLF OPENS AT ST. LAWRENCE

The Middlebury College men's golf team opened the fall season with a third place finish at the 11-team St. Lawrence Invitational. Saturday's action was cancelled due to weather, leaving an 18-hole tourney on Sunday. The host school won the event with a 298, while the Panthers shot a 303.

Sophomore Eric Laorr (Eden Prairie, Minn.) paced the team with a 75 on Sunday, followed by junior Rob Donahoe (Canton, Mass.), junior Chris Atwood (Rochester, N.H.) and sophomore Charlie Garcia (Garden City, N.Y.), who each shot a 76. Senior William Prince (New Canaan, Conn.) was one stroke back with a 77.
