 The Middlebury College men’s soccer team won its eighth straight meeting with Norwich (3-2), topping the Cadets 2-0 at home in a non-league game. The Panthers (1-1) now lead the all-time series 48-3-4.

 Rensselaer came from 15 strokes back and a sixth place tie on day one to capture the 28th annual Duke Nelson Tournament. Action took place at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the campus of Middlebury College. The Engineers fired a red-hot 294 on day two to shave 19 strokes off their Saturday score to earn the win (607). Three players took nine or more strokes off their day one performance to help aid the victory. Skidmore fired its second 306 of the weekend to finish in second place with a 612, while the host school shaved two strokes off its score for a 618, good for third place.

The Panther cross country teams hosted their only meet of the season as the Panther men and women both captured the Aldrich Invitational. The top-ranked Middlebury women convincingly won the six-team race, placing the top six runners and 11 of the top 12 finishers. The 10th-ranked men were equally as dominate in their six-team race, owning the top 11 finishers.

 The 10th-ranked Middlebury College women’s soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 3-0 victory over Keene State (1-4) on Dragone Field. The Panthers held a 25-11 shots advantage in the game, scoring three second half goals en route to the victory.

The Middlebury Invitational men's tennis tournament saw a pair of Panther rookies advancing to the finals of the "C" singles bracket. Ari Smolyer (Short Hills, N.J.) came from a set down to defeat classmate Allen Jackson (Charlotte, N.C.) 6-7 (5), 7-5, 10-4 to take the title.

Sophomore Catherine Fowler (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) and senior Lauren Greer (North Hampton, N.H.) both had one goal and one assist for the second-ranked Middlebury field hockey team in a 4-0 win over Colby in NESCAC play Saturday at Bill Alfond Field. The Panthers improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play, while the Mules fall to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the league.

The Middlebury College women's golf team fired a 317 on day two to finish in second place with a 640 at the New York University Invitational. Williams won the event with a 624, while Amherst placed third with a 641 in the 13-team event.

The Panther women's volleyball team improved to 4-1 on the season as the Panthers came from a set down to defeat Union (7-2) by a score of 3-1 (23-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-15) in Pepin Gym.
