TRACK AND FIELD BATTLES BOWDOIN AND SPRINGFIELD

The Middlebury College track & field teams competed at Springfield against the Pride and Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon. Several Panthers won events at the meet, with some impressive results. The Middlebury men and women both won the three-team event.

Senior Stuart Fram (Waterbury Center, Vt.) earned a win for the men in the 110 hurdles, coming in with a time of 15.45. Another hurdle win came from junior Kevin Chu (Burlington, Vt.) who won the 400 event in 56.73, while junior Bryan Holtzman (Sudbury, Mass.) took home the 100 title in 10.99. Junior Peter Hetzler (Rumson, N.J.) finished first in the 400 (52.01), junior Wilder Schaaf (Ashland, Ore.) was a victor in the 1,500 (3:57.29), while senior Anthony Lee (Plainsboro, N.J.) won the 3,000 steeplechase (9:23.29). In other events, senior Kyle Harrold (Redding, Conn.) cleared 12’1.5” to win the pole vault, while senior Daniel Bent (Marshfield, Mass.) leapt 40’5.5” to win the triple jump.

Senior Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) earned a win for the Panthers in the 1,500 event, finishing with a time of 4:45.40. Also earning wins were rookies   Carly Andersen (Mercer Island, Wash.) and Alexandra Morris (London, England). Anderson took home the javelin (121’3”), while Morris was a victor in the 400 (59.83).
